How to Practice Reiki Yoga Even if You're Not a Reiki Master

Reiki is a form of energy healing. The healing technique is based on the notion that humans have energy fields, or life forces, that keep us alive.

According to the practice, physical, mental, and emotional issues can occur if this energy is low or becomes blocked.

Reiki Yoga is a practice based on the principle of activating the body's natural healing process of the chakras to restore a sense of well-being.

What are the 5 Reiki Principles?

  • Just for today, I will not worry.

  • Just for today, I will not be angry.

  • Just for today, I will be grateful.

  • Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

  • Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

There's no right or wrong way to use the five Reiki principles into your life. They can be incorporated into your meditation practice, recited as an intention before your yoga practice, or closing your yoga practice.

Other ways to combine Reiki and yoga is by applying Reiki on the hips during restorative yoga poses to help energy flow within the body.

You can also use the Reiki hand positions to channel energy to the shoulders to ease tightness. Or channel Reiki to the knees during butterfly pose and feet during hero's pose.
