7 Steps to Getting Over a Breakup

7 Steps to Getting Over a Breakup; getting over breakup, move on from heartbreak, get over break up, heal from breakup

Whether it’s a romantic relationship, friendship or any type of goodbye, breakups are tough. It could be your first real heartbreak or your 100th. There are still times when you just want to shut out the world and have a good cry.

Years ago, I went through a series of personal and professional life meltdowns.Though most would describe me as an upbeat and down-to-earth gal, deep down, I was miserable.

I tried everything but kept feeling overwhelmed and hopeless. In the midst of anxiety and bouts of depression, I kept changing jobs, moving locations…yet nothing seemed to work.

Here’s what happened at one of my lowest points…

Broke up with a guy that I was set on marrying…couldn’t stand my office job and cried myself to sleep on Friday nights because I dreaded Mondays…had a falling out with my best friend…and a meltdown in front of a manager…unfortunately, the list goes on.

Life was chaotic but that didn’t mean I had to stay at rock bottom.

I ended my work contract overseas and got on the airplane to move back to the US. Within 24 hours of landing, I bought my condo and car.

Yes…from the airport, to the hotel, then my realtor’s office, into the realtor’s car, viewed the condo, 20-minutes later, put down the offer.

Next morning, I bought the Prius! Oh yeah, after getting unstuck, I met a great guy not too long after.

That several years ago and I still have no buyers remorse and no regrets!

How did I manifest these breakthroughs in the short amount of time?

Most times we are trying to tackle our life challenges on a physical, emotional, and mental level. Rarely do we look at how to take on life challenges on the energetic level.

Yet the key to getting to where you want to go in life is to be in alignment with the vibrational frequency of where you want to be. Friends and family can be very helpful but their words and support seems to only go so far.

Getting over the breakup has to ultimately come from within you.

Grieving over your loss for a reasonable amount of time is understandable. But if you linger too long in the past, friends and family may eventually get tired of hearing you go in circles.

Your negative emotions can start a destructive cycle. If you let the negativity fester, biochemical changes such as increases in cortisol (the stress hormone) can interfere with your body’s natural healing mechanism.

This could lead to to physical ailments and more dark emotions.

The good news is that if you’re able to acknowledge you’re starting to fester or hold a grudge, you’re halfway to releasing the negativity! Letting go of negative energy creates space for your new soulmate find you.

The key to moving forward is to start getting intention about the little things throughout your day. Whether it’s mindfully eating your meals to choosing to show up at work even if you don’t feel like it.

Every day starts with that intention on the physical, mental, emotional, and of course energetic level.

1. Work it out. It may be cold outside be even going for a brisk walk can make all the difference. Even light exercise increases your endorphins. So start taking the stairs instead of the elevator, get up every hour from your desk to stretch your legs, or do some yoga in the mornings!

2. Write it out: Got something to say but didn’t have a chance to say it? Trying to take the high road so biting your tongue. Then let it out on paper, girl! Journaling helps to get our thoughts out on paper and gain clarity! Yes, clear that throat chakra by speaking your truth.

3. Cry it out. Allow yourself to feel your feelings without judgement. Crying is natural and therapeutic. It helps our bodies physically release negative emotions. So let go of the self-judgement and allow yourself to cry when the emotions surface.

4. Change it out. Take an inventory of your surroundings and assess whether or not it may be time to set some energetic boundaries for yourself. Surround yourself with high-vibe people, colors, hobbies, books, and anything that raises your vibrational frequency.

5. Redirect it out. Shift your negative thoughts. It’s natural to analyze the past. However, the obsessive thoughts and replays of would of, could of, should of.

This can hinder your forward progression in the long run. When you catch yourself going down a rabbit hole, simply redirect your thoughts away to something good that is happening in your life.

6. Meditate it out. Maintain a positive thought for 68 seconds. Studies have shown that even 17 seconds of energy work can equate to 2 or more hours of physical work.

By focusing your attention on something positive in your life, you activate the vibration of that thought within you. Immediately the Law of Attraction begins to respond to that activation.

The longer you keep your attention focused on something, the easier it becomes for you to continue to focus upon it. This is because you are attracting, through the Law of Attraction, other thoughts or vibrations that are the essence of the thought you began with.

Within 17 seconds of focusing on something, a matching vibration becomes activated. And now, as that focus becomes stronger and the vibration becomes clearer, the Law of Attraction will bring to you more thoughts that match.

At this point, the vibration will not have much attraction power, but if you maintain your focus longer, the power of the vibration will become further reaching.

And if you manage to stay purely focused upon any thought for as little as 68 seconds, the vibration is powerful enough that its manifestation begins.

7. Affirm it out. Ever tried a short forgiveness affirmation? Each night before going to bed, repeat as often as you need the following:

“I forgive those who have wronged me. I forgive myself. I let go of all anger, resentment, and pain. I welcome an abundance of love, peace and joy.” Repeat this each night until you no longer need to.

No more excuses of not having enough time to take care of YOU. Save yourself months, if not years, by raising your vibrations to help you attract who and what you want into life.

More and more studies show that married people are not necessarily happier than single people. Yet, being a single female sometimes bring upon critical judgement from peers, family members and society. Here are three reasons why nothing is wrong with you because you are single.

Stay consistent.

It’s natural to waver between a positive and negative outlook throughout the day. The key is to make the effort to take small, but consistent steps to shift your energy towards the positive.

Attitude check.

Many psychiatrists believe that 80 percent of happiness is based on an individual’s attitude towards life. So take an inventory of your thought patterns.

A million things can be going well for you. But when you focus on the one thing that isn’t going the way you want, it can lower your vibrations significantly.

What steps will you take to shift your perspective? What are your dominant thoughts throughout the day? Is it time to let go of the negative self-talk centered around being single?

Reality check.

The grass is not always greener. Many married people are envious of your freedom among other perks of being single and fab.

According to the National Health Interview Study, women who have always been single have better overall health than currently married women.

They also have fewer days in bed because of disabilities and fewer doctors’ visits. Also, researchers have shown that people who have always been single exercise more than married people do.

Check in.

Take a few deep breaths to ground yourself and simply check-in with your intuition. Start off each morning checking in and continue to do so throughout the day when you feel negative emotions surfacing.

Whenever such emotions surface, allow yourself to feel it without judgement. Let the emotion pass. You can take this as an opportunity to listen to what your intuition is trying to tell you.

Negative thought patterns can run our day and in turn, run our lives. If you catch yourself going down a rabbit hole of negativity, it’s time for a shift.

When you shift your focus to even just the smallest thing that is going well in life, you shift your energy. The slightest shift in your energetic vibrations can raise your frequency to help you attract more positive outcomes.

Good news: You can do this instantly. And at anytime and anyplace. You just have to make the choice to start now by setting your intention to raise your vibrations.

Raise your vibrations to attract who and want you want into your life. Let's create positive energy together!
