When we try to raise our frequency, we need to start with our consciousness. First, what exactly do I mean by consciousness?
Consciousness is the awareness of your thoughts and feelings. The collective consciousness is the set of shared beliefs, ideas and moral attitudes which unifies us as a society.
Our thoughts carry vibrational frequency.
Raising your consciousness is simply about exploring your perceptions of reality. It’s about reconnecting with others and nature. Most importantly, it’s about learning how to control your own destiny by your actions and thoughts.
A heightened consciousness not only increases your awareness about yourself, but also how you can have an impact in the world. When we live a high vibe conscious lifestyle, we are contributing positive energy to the collective consciousness.
What’s the lesson?
Life setbacks and challenges are opportunities for raising our consciousness. We are here to learn lessons that will help to grow our soul. Lessons include compassion, patience, forgiveness, and selflessness.
Each person has his or her own life lessons to learn as well and in different life categories. This could be in the category of finance, health, career, love, and so forth.
High vibe lifestyle.
Bottom line: We’re all here to learn how to be better people. During the process, it’s the personal journey that matters, not the destination.

So how do you start to raise your frequency with Reiki energy?

1. Let go of the “woo-woo” bias.
It’s natural to have biases but we need to detach from biases that are creating blocks to a life of more peace and balance.
Although Reiki has been covered quite a bit in mainstream media, from Newsweek, The Drs, and even Vanity Fair, why do many still consider the ancient art form of healing to be too “woo-woo”?
Through my experience as a yoga teacher, Reiki and yoga go hand in hand as yoga can increase the flow of Reiki energy in our lives. Where yoga may help us understand Reiki in a much deeper way, Reiki may help us understand the deeper energies of yoga.
Both modalities complement one another to provide a powerful mechanism for balance and peace. The possibilities for you are endless when you continue to practice simple Reiki and yoga techniques each day.
However, certain hospitals where I teach yoga do not allow instructors to bring up the concepts of chakra balancing, let along energy work. At the same time, other hospitals in the area seek Reiki volunteers to help their patients in the intensive care unit. What a sharp contrast!
2. Stop expecting instant results.
To be completely honest, I did not understand what all the hype around holistic healing was about until I actually started working with an energy healer myself in 2012.
Although the results were drastic, the personal journey towards raising my consciousness took time. The aha moments of clarity didn’t happen overnight. There were lots of trials and errors. And I’m still a work in progress!
Nevertheless, after seeing and feeling the results of a life of more peace and balance, I was sold. It was an eye-opening spiritual awakening. I then began studying Reiki in depth after further exposure to the practice during a half day module on energy work in the midst of my yoga teacher training.
After receiving my certifications from two Reiki Masters, through both in-person and distance attunements, I continued my study on energy healing at workshops held at a local holistic wellness center.
3. Accept differences in opinions.
As a logical thinker working in corporate America, learning about energy healing and other holistic practices was such a juxtaposition from my daily work and life.
To this day, I still struggle with the stark contrast, particularly when it comes to discussing energy work with close friends and family who do not resonate with Reiki.
Over the years, I learned to accept the differences in opinion on Reiki and other forms of energy healing.
Along the same lines, though many swear by acupuncture, I’ve tried it and did not find it helpful in relieving stress and pain.
However, my experience does not mean it is an ineffective holistic healing practice. It just goes to show that Reiki and other healing modalities can help us on our spiritual path of learning life lessons through our toughest challenges.
If more of us are open to the different healing modalities, the better we can all raise the collective consciousness.

There’s been a lot of hype around the health benefits of Reiki energy healing despite the holistic practice having been around for centuries. In fact, Reiki has been covered quite a bit in mainstream media, from Newsweek, The Drs, Oprah, and even Vanity Fair.
Regardless of the hype, Reiki has been used to enhance the effectiveness of various healing modalities for many decades. The healing energy will go where it is needed and do what is needed to facilitate shifts and natural healing.
